An ambulance carrying a dead body collided with a parked lorry, killing three and injuring two
An ambulance carrying a dead body collided with a parked lorry in which three people were killed on National Highway 4 on the outskirts of Chitradurga.
The ambulance hit the parked lorry. As a result, three people in the ambulance died. Kanakamani (72) of Tirunalveli, Tamil Nadu, Akash (17), an ambulance driver from Gujarat died in the accident.
Gnanasekhar (51) and Mauli Rajan (45) were seriously injured and admitted to Chitradurga District Hospital.
Originally from Tamil Nadu, Kanakamani and his family were staying in Ahmedabad and were taking the dead body of a family member from Gujarat to their hometown due to the untimely death of a family member. The ambulance was moving from Davangere towards Bangalore. An accident occurred mid-way while transporting dead bodies from Ahmedabad to Tamil Nadu.
An ambulance was traveling near National Highway 48 near Mallapur in Chitradurga taluk when the driver lost control and collided with a lorry standing near the road. The accident occurred as a result of the ambulance driver fell asleep while traveling continuously.
